GENEVA, N.Y.—William Smith junior forward Sophie Dennis (Dana L. West/Port Byron, N.Y.) was named the Liberty League Field Hockey Co-Offensive Performer of the Week this afternoon. She scored two goals and notched three assists in a 2-1 week for the Herons.
In a 2-1 win over Geneseo on Sept. 1, Dennis scored the ninth game-winning goal of her career. Two days later, she posted a goal and an assist in a 4-2 loss to national powerhouse Messiah. She closed out the weekend with a pair of assists in a 3-2 come-from-behind win over Johns Hopkins, 3-2.
With 41 goals and 15 assists, Dennis is three points shy of becoming just the 10th Heron to record 100 for her career.
William Smith returns to action at 2 p.m., on Sept. 10, when the Herons travel to Oswego State.
