GENEVA, N.Y.—William Smith College junior forward Maggie Dolan (Towson/Towson, Md.) was named the Liberty League Field Hockey Co-Offensive Performer of the Week this afternoon.
Dolan led the Herons (14-2) to victory in their lone match last week. She scored twice to lead William Smith over Nazareth 3-0 on Saturday. In the 15th minute, she gave the Herons all the offense they needed with her ninth goal of the season. Ten minutes later, she added an insurance goal, reaching double digits in goals in a season for the first time in her career.
Dolan finished the regular season second on the team in goals, assists (6), and points (26). She ranks among the conference leaders in game-winning goals (2nd), assists (4th), goals (7th), and points (7th).
William Smith survived this year’s Liberty League slate unscathed with a 7-0 mark and will host the conference’s championship tournament on Nov. 6-7. The Herons will tangle with fourth-seeded Skidmore in the first semifinal at 11 a.m., with No. 2 St. Lawrence and No. 3 Rensselaer to follow at 2 p.m. The winners will meet at 1 p.m., on Nov. 7.
