Jordan grabs Liberty League honors

GENEVA, N.Y.—William Smith junior goalkeeper Sue Jordan (Boothbay/Boothbay, Maine) was named the Liberty League Field Hockey Defensive Performer of the Week following a 3-0 effort for the 11th-ranked Herons.
Against No. 13 Ithaca, Union, and No. 16 Skidmore, Jordan sported a 0.67 GAA, an .895 save percentage, and averaged nearly six saves per game. She made five stops against the Bombers, four against the Dutchwomen, and eight vs. the Thoroughbreds.
For the season, Jordan leads the Liberty League with four shutouts, while boasting a 1.55 goals against average (second in the League), and a .696 save percentage.
William Smith (10-1, 5-0 Liberty) returns to action at 4 p.m., on Oct. 12, when the Herons travel to fifth-ranked Cortland.
