GENEVA, N.Y.—St. Lawrence University senior forward Erin Lloyd (Corinth/Corinth, N.Y.) scored a pair of second-half goals to lift the Saints to a 3-0 victory over Rensselaer in the Liberty League Field Hockey Semifinal hosted by William Smith College this afternoon. Second-seeded St. Lawrence advances to the championship game against the top-seeded and host Herons on Nov. 7, at 1 p.m.

After a scoreless first half that featured just a total of seven shots on goal between the Saints and Red Hawks, St. Lawrence found its offensive rhythm early in the second stanza. Attacking right from the whistle, the Saints needed just 1:08 to score what proved to be the game winner. Sophomore midfielder Erin Mellow (Lebanon/Grantham, N.H.) tapped in a shot from the right post by junior forward Tiffany Elsenbeck (Clinton/Clinton, N.Y.) for the 1-0 lead.

St. Lawrence (10-6) continued to pepper the RPI goal with shots, but did not find the back of the cage again until the 56:11 mark, when Lloyd was able to tip a redirection by junior Liz Allison (Johnsburg/North Creek, N.Y.). Lloyd added her 14th goal of the year just 49 seconds later on a similar play, getting an assist from sophomore Ali Mattison (Tabor/Osterville, Mass.) this time.

The Saints outshot the Red Hawks 15-5, including an 11-2 edge in the second half, and held a 17-8 advantage on penalty corners. RPI (8-9) goalie Amanda Lund (Valley/Chester, Conn.) had 10 saves in 70 minutes of action, while first-year Emilie Lannamann (Proctor Academy/Durham, N.H.) made 3 stops in 65:15.

St. Lawrence will meet fifth-ranked William Smith (15-2) in the Liberty League Championship game tomorrow at 1 p.m., on McCooey Field. The Saints will be looking to avenge their 5-2 loss to the Herons earlier in the season to capture the League title as well as the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
