GENEVA, N.Y.--The William Smith College field hockey team came from behind to knock off Skidmore College in overtime, 2-1. With an assist on the game-tying goal, senior midfielder Nicky Livingston (Whitney Point/Whitney Point, N.Y.) became only the seventh Heron to reach the 100-point plateau.

In the first half, first-year forward Alison Enright (Hollis-Brookline/Hollis, N.H.) gave the Thoroughbreds a 1-0 lead on a pass from junior forward Taryn Howard (Littleton/Littleton, N.H.). William Smith outshot Skidmore 15-7 in the first 35 minutes, but was frustrated by junior Thoroughbred goalie Kristine Osmond (Weston/Westford, Mass.) who made eight saves.

The Herons finally solved Osmond a minute and 34 seconds into the second half. Livington set up senior forward Carrie Cicciarelli (Whitney Point/Lisle, N.Y.) to knot the score at one. Strong goaltending from Osmond and sophomore Jess Kulesa (Garden City/Patchogue, N.Y.) shut down the offenses after the goal and sent the contest to overtime.

William Smith needed only 43 seconds in extra time, as senior forward Jackie Hall (Berkshire School/Newport, R.I.) netted the game winner. The goal leaves Hall just four points shy of the 100-point mark. Kulesa finished with nine saves for the win and Osmond stopped 20 shots for Skidmore (4-1, 2-1 UCAA).

William Smith (6-2, 2-0 UCAA) returns to action on Sept. 27, when they travel to the University of Rochester for a 5 p.m. match up with the Yellowjackets.
