McKevitt, Kulesa earn UCAA honor

GENEVA, N.Y.--William Smith College junior forward Sheila McKevitt (Clinton/Clinton, N.Y.) is the Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association's Player of the Week, while teammate sophomore Jessica Kulesa (Garden City/Garden City, N.Y.) is the league's Goaltender of the Week. The duo helped the Herons to a 3-0 week.
McKevitt scored all three goals in William Smith's UCAA opening 3-2 over Union College. The forward is currently leads the team in scoring with 10 points. She has four goals and two assists.
Kulesa recorded three wins last week, including a shutout. She made three saves in a 1-0 win over SUNY-Brockport, four in a 3-2 victory over Union College, and 11 in a 2-1 overtime thriller against Skidmore College. The sophomore is 4-0 this season with two shutouts, a goals against average of 1.03, and an .865 save percentage.
The Herons (6-2, 2-0 UCAA) travel to the University of Rochester on Sept. 27, to take on the Yellowjacket at 5 p.m. William Smith shutout Rochester 7-0 in Geneva last season.
