GENEVA, N.Y.--The William Smith College field hockey team remains at No. 4 in the latest National Field Hockey Coaches Association poll. The Herons were 2-0 last week, clinching the Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association Title and the accompanying NCAA Tournament bid.

On Oct. 19, the Herons clinched the league championship in style, with a 7-2 dismantling of visiting Vassar College. Junior forward Sheila McKevitt (Clinton/Clinton, N.Y.) scored two goals and an assist, while senior midfielder Nicky Livingston (Whitney Point/Whitney Point, N.Y.) added a goal and two assists.

William Smith held off a late rally to defeat 19th-ranked Rensselaer, 2-1, on Oct. 20. Senior forward Jackie Hall (Berkshire School/Newport, R.I.) scored a goal and set up Livingston's game-winner as the Herons closed the regular season with a three-game winning streak.

William Smith (13-3, 7-0 UCAA) will now await the NCAA selection show on Oct. 28, to find out who and where they will be playing in the NCAA Tournament.
