Calandra leads Herons in Martin Memorial

CORTLAND, N.Y.—The William Smith golf team finished sixth out of six teams in the Dr. Larry Martin Memorial hosted by SUNY Cortland this afternoon. The Herons carded a team score of 392 at the Cortland Country Club.

Sophomore Nickie Calandra (Camden/Blossvale, N.Y.) was the top William Smith player in the clubhouse, posting a 92, 10 off the leader and 20 over par. She was 14th out of 35 golfers.

First-year Katie Mullen (Convent of the Sacred Heart/Rye, N.Y.) and sophomore Lauren Zeitler (Sayville/Sayville, N.Y.) were the next two Herons in, carding a 98 and 99 for 23rd and 24th, respectively.

William Smith will close out its fall season Oct. 14-15 in the Wellesley Invitational. The NYSWCAA Championships, originally scheduled for Oct. 7-8 at the Clifton Springs Country Club, have been cancelled.
