Dolan records ace in State Championships

CLIFTON SPRINGS, N.Y.--Junior Valerie Dolan (Notre Dame Academy/Greenbush, Mass.) carded the first hole-in-one in the history of William Smith golf in the first of two rounds of the New York State Women's Collegiate Athletic Association Championships this afternoon at the par 72 Clifton Springs Country Club.
Swinging a six iron, Dolan turned in the shot of the day on the 137-yard 13th. She carded the Herons' low round with a 94. Senior Sarah Coffin (St. George's School (R.I.)/Bryn Mawr, Pa.) was second in the clubhouse for William Smith with a round of 98.
St. Lawrence University (343) leads the team standings by one stroke over Cortland State (344). William Smith is in fourth place with a team score of 401.
