Herons take 10th in ICSA Women's Championships

GROSSE POINTE, Mich.--The William Smith sailing team finished 10th at the Intercollegiate Sailing Association Women's Championships. During the three-day event, the Herons finished ninth in the B Division and 12th in the A Division for a team total of 354 points.

In 18 races, senior Amanda Callahan (Notre Dame Academy/Canton, Mass.) and junior Alexis Rubin (Edmund Burke/Potomac, Md.) turned in 11 top-10 finishes in the B Division, including two top-three showings. The pair finished with 166 points.

In the A Division, senior Courtney Wilkins (Hamilton-Wenham/Needham Heights, Mass.) and junior Mora O'Malley (Totino Grace/Dellwood, Minn.) finished with 188 points and seven top-10 showings.

The Hobart and William Smith sailing team will continue its quest for a national championship over the next six days at the Grosse Pointe Yacht Club in the ICSA Team Race Championships and the ICSA Coed Dinghy National Championships.
