GENEVA, N.Y. –The Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association has named William Smith College lacrosse player Megan Shea (Mountain Lakes/Doylestown, Pa.) its Player of the Week. The junior attacker tied her career-high with eight points in the Herons come-from-behind victory at No. 17 and previously undefeated University of Rochester on April 20.
Shea scored five goals, including the game-winner, and three assists to lead William Smith past the Yellowjackets, 15-11. She leads the Herons and is second in the UCAA in scoring with 37 goals and 20 assists for 57 points. The junior has scored at least a point in 41 consecutive games and needs just six points to reach the 200-point plateau. Shea is averaging 5.18 ppg.
No. 8 William Smith (10-1, 5-1 UCAA) hosts fourth-ranked SUNY-Cortland
(11-1) on April 23, at 4 p.m. Last season, the Red Dragons edged the Herons,
10-9, in Cortland.
