Dudley corrals Liberty League weekly award

GENEVA, N.Y.—William Smith junior goalkeeper Nikki Dudley (Chittenango/Chittenango, N.Y.) was named the Liberty League Defensive Performer of the Week this afternoon for the week ending Oct. 30. It is the seventh time this season she has received the League’s weekly award.
On Oct. 26, Dudley extended her scoreless streak to 502 minutes and 33 seconds as she made two saves in the Herons’ 4-0 win at Cortland. She leads the nation in shutouts (14), goals against average (0.07), and save percentage (.980). Her 14 solo shutouts are the most by a William Smith player in a single season.
William Smith (14-0-1, 6-0-1) is the host of the 2005 Liberty League Championship Tournament. The top-seeded Herons will face No. 4 Hamilton (7-5-1, 3-3-1) in the first semifinal at 11 a.m. on Nov. 4. No. 2 Union (15-1-2) will square off with No. 3 Skidmore (13-4-1, 4-2-1) at 2 p.m. The championship match is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. on Nov. 5.
