Dudley garners ECAC honors

GENEVA, N.Y.—William Smith College junior goalkeeper Nikki Dudley (Chittenango/Chittenango, N.Y.) was selected the ECAC Division III Upstate Goalkeeper of the Week this afternoon for her performance during the week ending Oct. 30. It’s the second time this season she has earned the ECAC weekly award.
On Oct. 26, the Herons won their 14th game of the season, defeating Cortland 4-0. Dudley made a pair of saves to extend her shutout streak to 502 minutes and 33 seconds. She leads the nation in shutouts (14), goals against average (0.07), and save percentage (.980). As a whole, the William Smith defense leads the nation in goals allowed (1) and shutout percentage (92.9).
The Herons’ will host the 2005 Liberty League Tournament. Top-seeded William Smith (14-0-1) will kick off the semifinal round against No. 4 Hamilton (7-5-1) on Nov. 4 at 11 a.m., while No. 2 Union (15-1-2) will square off against No. 3 Skidmore (13-4-1) at 1:30 p.m. Internet browsers can access live statistics and streaming audio via Liberty League Tournament home page.
