Warren earns second consecutive weekly award
October 25, 2004
GENEVA, N.Y.—William Smith College first-year forward Brittany Warren (Liverpool/Liverpool, N.Y.) was named the Liberty League Soccer Co-Rookie of the Week this afternoon after helping the Herons earn the third seed in the upcoming Liberty League Tournament on Nov. 5-6.
Making her third straight start for William Smith, Warren scored a goal and added two assists in the Herons’ 3-0 win over Clarkson on Friday. She provided the through ball to fellow classmate Laura Burnett-Kurie (Oyster River/Durham, N.H.) in the ninth minute for what proved to be the game-winner. Eight minutes later Warren tallied her third goal of the year to give William Smith a two-goal cushion. She earned her fourth and final point of the afternoon five minutes later with her second helper.
Since making her first start on Oct. 12, against RIT, Warren has scored three goals and two assists, averaging two points per game in the past four games. She is second on the team in points with eight.
The Herons close out their regular season on Oct. 30, traveling to Ithaca for a noon kickoff with the Bombers.
