ROCHESTER, N.Y.—Sophomore forward Laura Burnett-Kurie (Oyster River/Durham, N.H.) netted a pair of second half goals to lead the William Smith soccer team to a 2-0 victory over RIT this afternoon. The Herons bombarded the Tigers net with 23 shots, while RIT could only muster two.

William Smith (10-0-1, 4-0-1 Liberty League) finally broke through in the 67th minute as Burnett-Kurie ripped a pass from senior midfielder Kate Warner (Gould Academy/Glouster, Mass.) past Tigers’ goalkeeper Ashley Conti. The Liberty League Co-Offensive Performer of the Week recorded her 12th goal of the season in the 82nd minute. Junior midfielder Alex Reiben (Guilford/Guilford, Conn.) generated the scoring opportunity by sending a through ball in behind the Tigers’ defense.

Junior goalkeeper Nikki Dudley (Chittenango/Chittenango, N.Y.) made one save to record her 10th shutout win of the season.

The Herons will hit the road again as they travel to Nazareth on Oct. 15 for a 1 p.m. showdown.
