Boardman-Brann earns Liberty League honor

GENEVA, N.Y.—William Smith first-year Julie Boardman-Brann (Niskayuna/Niskayuna, N.Y.) was named the Liberty League Women’s Soccer Co-Rookie of the Week this afternoon.
Boardman-Brann scored her second goal of the season in a 3-0 win over RIT last Tuesday. She netted an insurance goal for the Herons in the 39th minute of play, thanks to an assist from junior Leigh Williamson (Arlington/Poughkeepsie, N.Y.). A midfielder, Boardman-Brann has played in all 13 games this season, starting two.
William Smith is currently 9-3-1 overall, and undefeated (5-0-0) in league play. The Herons, who are ranked fifth in the New York State Region, will be back in action on Oct. 20 when they travel to Skidmore for a Liberty League game at 4 p.m.
