Burnett-Kurie wins Liberty League Award

GENEVA, N.Y.—William Smith junior Laura Burnett-Kurie (Oyster River/Durham, N.H.) was named the Liberty League Women’s Soccer Offensive Performer of the Week this afternoon.
Burnett-Kurie led the Herons to a 1-1 record last week, as the team traveled to Texas to take on fourth-ranked Trinity and Southwestern universities. Burnett-Kurie scored three goals in two games, including the lone Heron goal in a 2-1 overtime loss to the Tigers last Saturday. She went on to add two goals in a 4-0 win over the Pirates the next morning. The forward currently leads the Liberty League in goals (6) and points (13).
The Herons (3-3-0) will return to action on Sept. 22 when they host Vassar for their first Liberty League game of the season at 4 p.m.
