GENEVA, N.Y.—The William Smith soccer team gave Head Coach Aliceann Wilber her 350th career win today, as it downed Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute 3-0 in a Liberty League match this afternoon. The Herons improve to 5-3-0 overall and 2-0 in the league, while the Red Hawks drop to 2-4-1 and 0-2 in the conference.

The Herons doused Coach Aliceann Wilber following her 350th career victory.

Sophomore Katie Compton (The Loomis Chaffee School/West Hartford, Conn.) netted the first goal for William Smith just over 11 minutes into the game off a pass from junior Laura Burnett-Kurie (Oyster River/Durham, N.H.). The Herons took a two-goal lead with 13 seconds left to play in the first half after senior Alex Rieben (Guilford/Guilford, Conn.) scored on a free kick, her second goal in as many games.

In the 71st minute, sophomore Rayza Santiago (Webster Schroeder/Webster, N.Y.) tallied her second goal of the weekend off an assist from junior Tracy Stankavage (Chittenango/Chittenango, N.Y.).

On the defensive end, senior goalkeeper Tara Marandino (Massapequa/Massapequa, N.Y.) recorded eight saves for the Red Hawks.

William Smith will be in action again on Sept. 30 when it hosts Hamilton for a league game at 2 p.m.
