Herons drop season opener

ROCHESTER, N.Y.—The William Smith soccer team opened its season today with a 1-0 loss to Wittenberg in the first round of the Nazareth Tournament.
Senior Nikki Dudley (Chittenango/Chittenango, N.Y.) recorded five saves for the Herons.
The game remained scoreless until midway through the second half, when Lisa Rusch scored an unassisted goal for Whittenberg, which would become the game-winner.
William Smith returns to action tomorrow (9/3) when it takes on Allegheny at 2 p.m.
