GENEVA, N.Y.—William Smith College senior midfielder Kristin Falzarano (Morristown/Morris Plains, N.J.) was recently named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Division III All-America second team. She advanced to the national ballot after earning first-team All-Region honors.

The 2002 Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association Player of the Year, Falzarano was third on the team in scoring with seven goals and six assists for 20 points. Tied for the team lead in assists she provided a spark to the Heron offense with her attacking down the flanks, netting three game-winning scores. A two-time first-team All-UCAA honoree, she led William Smith to its third consecutive appearance in the NCAA Quarterfinals after notching a goal and an assist in the Herons’ 3-0 victory over NYU in the regional finals.

William Smith finished the season at 17-4-3, one win shy of the school’s single season record, advancing all the way to the NCAA Semifinals. The Herons made their record setting 16th consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament winning their third straight New York region championship on the way to the team’s sixth appearance in the semifinal round.

William Smith has placed 29 players on the NSCAA Division III All-America teams since the program began in 1986. The Herons are one of five teams to earn two spots on the All-America teams that featured 28 different schools across the nation.
