GENEVA, N.Y.--The National Soccer Coaches Association of America recently announced the Northeast Regional All-America teams. William Smith College, the NCAA Northeast Region Champion, placed five players on the teams, the most of any school.

Senior goalie Leah Cornwell (Wheatland-Chili/Scottsville, N.Y.), senior defender Felicia Crump (Lawrenceville School/Marlboro, N.J.), and junior strikers Kristin Perrigo (Liverpool/Liverpool, N.Y.) and Alyson Stachura (Pittsford Sutherland/Pittsford, N.Y.) earned first-team honors, while senior defender Summer Greiner (East Syracuse-Minoa/Kirkville, N.Y.) received third-team recognition.

The 2001 UCAA Player of the Year, Cornwell led the UCAA in goals against average and ranked second in save percentage. She started all 20 games for the Herons this season, boasting a 0.55 goals against average and an .863 save percentage. She posted a 17-2-1 overall record, while recording seven shutouts. In three seasons, Cornwell owns a 0.70 goals against average, an .859 save percentage, a 45-11-2 record, and 19 shutouts. She also earned first-team Regional honors last season.

The 2001 NYSWCAA Defensive Player of the Year, Crump anchored the defense in front of Cornwell. She helped limit opponents to just 11 goals in 20 games this season. The three-time first-team All-UCAA selection also contributed five assists to the offense.

Perrigo finished second on the team in scoring this season with 10 goals and nine assists for a career-high 29 points. She scored a career-high six points (2-4) in a 9-0 win over Clarkson on Oct. 13. She ranks eighth in career points (78), 10th in career goals (28), and fourth in career assists (22). A two-time first-team All-UCAA selection, Perrigo earned second-team Regional All-American honors a year ago.

The 2000 UCAA Rookie of the Year, Stachura led the Herons in scoring this season with 15 goals and one assist for 31 points. She scored a career-high six points with three goals in a 5-2 win over St. Lawrence. Of her 22 career goals (which ties her for 11th), nine have been game-winners.

Greiner led William Smith defenders in scoring with two goals and four assists for eight points. The three-time first-team All-UCAA selection moved from the midfield to defense this season, helping the Herons to their second consecutive UCAA Championship and second-straight NCAA Regional title.

William Smith finished the season 17-2-1, a single win shy of the school's single season record, winning the UCAA with a perfect 7-0-0 record. The Herons made their record breaking 15th consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance, advancing to the quarterfinal round for the seventh time since 1991.
