Herons win ECAC title 4-1 over Rochester November 16, 2003 Perrigo was named the Most Outstanding Player of the tournament as she played a part in all three second-half goals scored by the Herons, who finished their season with a record of 15-5-2. Clinging to a 1-0 lead in the second half, William Smith got a goal at 54:06 from Perrigo, who headed in a crossing pass from sophomore Pria Young. Perrigo then added assists on insurance goals by senior Stephanie Leveille and first-year Alexandra Rieben. Debbie Minarick gave the Herons a 1-0 advantage at 6:58 as she converted a pass from Steph Gridley. The score stayed that way until Perrigo scored in the second half. Rochester averted the shutout with less than three minutes to play as Sarah Crimmins scored off a crossing pass from Sarah Tarka. The Yellowjackets finished 11-8-2. First-year Nikki Dudley earned the win in goal with six saves. |
