GENEVA, N.Y.—The Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association named William Smith College senior Kristin Perrigo (Liverpool/Liverpool, N.Y.) and first-year Alexandra Rieben (Guilford/Guilford, Conn.) the Women’s Soccer Offensive Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively for the week ending Sept. 28. They combined for three goals and an assist to lead the Herons to a pair of conference victories.
At Rensselaer on Friday, Perrigo knocked home her fourth goal of the season with 29 seconds remaining in regulation to lift the Herons past the Red Hawks 2-1. The following afternoon at Vassar, she netted the lone, first half goal to guide William Smith to a 5-0 win over the Brewers. She leads all Herons with five goals, including four game-winners.
Coming off the bench to lead the Herons in points this past weekend, Rieben evened the score in the 38th minute against RPI by heading in a corner kick for her first collegiate goal. She added to her point total the next day with a tally and an assist in the win at Vassar.
Moving up a spot to eighth in the NSCAA New York Regional Rankings, the Herons (5-2-1, 2-0 UCAA) return to action on Oct. 4, hosting Hamilton College at 1 p.m., in UCAA play on Cozzens Field.
