Brooks collects Rookie of the Week honors

GENEVA, N.Y.—William Smith College first-year Maddie Brooks (Westminster School/New Canaan, Conn.) was named the Liberty League Squash Women’s Co-Rookie of the Week this afternoon. This marks the fourth time this season Brooks has garnered the weekly accolade.
In her lone match of the week, Brooks breezed past Colgate's Katie Aretz 3-0 (9-1, 9-1, 9-2) in the No. 5 spot to win her seventh consecutive match and lead the Herons past the Raiders 9-0. She sports a team-best record of 14-2, including a perfect 11-0 in the fifth position.
Riding a seven-match win streak, William Smith is 14-2 overall, the most wins in the program’s seven-year history. The 13th-ranked Herons close out their regular season on Feb. 10, when 10th-ranked Cornell visits the Smith Squash Center at 7 p.m.
