Coffin and Pandole compete at Holleran Cup
March 9, 2004 The Herons top player this season, Pandole opened the weekend losing to Dartmouths Avery Eyre 3-0 (9-4, 9-0, 9-0). The No. 2 player for much of the year Coffin had similar luck, falling to three-seed Frances McNeely 3-0 (9-2, 9-6, 9-3) in her first match. Coffin bounced back in the consolation bracket to beat Ashley Kilgore of Smith 3-0 (9-6, 9-5, 9-4) before losing in the quarterfinals to Emilie Slack 3-0 (9-0, 9-6, 9-1). Slack also handed Pandole her second loss, 3-0 (9-3, 9-2, 9-2), of the tournament in the first round of the consolation bracket. Pandole closes out her rookie year with a 9-5 record, while Coffin posted one of the teams best records at 11-6. The Herons finished the season with an 8-6 overall record, capturing third place in the Walker Cupthe College Squash Association Team Championships. |
