GENEVA, N.Y.—Senior diver Sarah Costanza (Gwynedd Mercy/Ambler, Pa.) won the New York State Women’s Collegiate Athletic Association (NYSWCAA) 1-meter championship over the weekend and today was named the Liberty League Co-Diver of the Week. It’s the third time this season she has earned a share of the conference award.

Costanza, who also won the NYSWCAA 1-meter title in 2004, posted a winning score of 406.9, a championship and association record. The score also exceeds the NCAA Championship qualifying standard, her ninth such performance of the season. Costanza finished fifth on the 3-meter board.

The NCAA Championship field will be announced Feb. 24, for the meet, March 9-11, in Minneapolis. A national committee of diving coaches will review tape of the divers who exceeded the NCAA qualifying standard during the season and invite 22 to the championships.

Costanza has represented William Smith in the NCAA Diving Championships in each of the past two seasons and earned honorable mention All-American honors in 2004.
