GENEVA, N.Y.—William Smith College first-year Laura Patterson (Annapolis/Annapolis, Md.) was named Liberty League Women’s Swimming and Diving Co-Rookie of the Week this afternoon. Patterson helped the Herons defeat Alfred, 126-115, and Wells, 104-74, last week.

Patterson posted two individual victories and swam on two victorious relays in the Herons’ two meets last week. In the win over the Express, she won the 100-yard breaststroke and was a member of the winning 200 medley relay team. Against the Saxons, she captured the 200 breaststroke and swam on the winning 400 medley relay. Patterson also earned points for the Herons in the 100 butterfly (2nd vs. Wells), 200 freestyle (3rd vs. Wells), and 200 individual medley (4th at Alfred).

William Smith, currently unbeaten with a 2-0-1 overall record, returns to the water on Dec. 1-2 when it travels to Rochester for the Liberty League Swimming and Diving Championships.
