3 Heron swimmers earn All-Academic Award

GENEVA, N.Y.—Three members of the William Smith College swimming and diving team were recently named to the New York State Women’s Collegiate Athletic Association (NYSWCAA) All-Academic Team. William Smith closed out its season with a 4-4-1 dual meet record, and a 12th-place finish at the NYSWCAA Championships last week.

To earn a place on the NYSWCAA All-Academic Team, the student-athlete must have a grade point average of 3.3 or higher for the past two semesters, and must be at least a sophomore academically. The following Herons were named to the 2006-07 All-Academic Team:

• Senior Charlotte McIntosh (Blair Academy/Reading Pa.), political science and environmental studies double major

• Sophomore Sarah Gummoe (Webster Thomas/Webster, N.Y.), undeclared

• Sophomore Allie Donovan (Catherine McAuley/Portland, Maine), undeclared
