March 7, 2007
GENEVA, N.Y.—The William Smith College swimming and diving team was recently honored by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) for its superior academic standing. The Herons were named a 2006 CSCAA All-Academic Team after posting a team grade point average of 3.25 or higher during the 2006 fall semester.
The CSCAA recognizes three categories for this award: commendable (teams with a 2.80 or better), excellent (3.0 or better), and superior (3.25 or better). Additionally, all team members must have a GPA of 2.8 or higher. Out of 335 teams, 230 met the criteria for at least one of these categories.
William Smith wrapped up its 2006-07 season with a 12th-place finish at the NYSWCAA Championships, and posted a 4-4-1 dual meet record.
