Herons compete in RPI Invite

TROY, N.Y.—The William Smith swimming & diving team finished fifth out of seven teams in the Rensselaer Invitational this afternoon. Senior Charlotte McIntosh (Blair Academy/Reading, Pa.) was the Herons top performer, placing third in the 200-yard freestyle and sixth in the 200 backstroke.
McIntosh turned in a time of 2:04.04 in the 200 free and 2:21.83 in the 200 backstroke.
Sophomore Lynn Cutter (St. Gertrude/Richmond, Va.) also captured a pair of top 10 finishes, placing sixth in both the 50 (25.59) and 100 free (57.20). Junior Meghan Mosher (Livonia/Livonia, N.Y.) was close behind Cutter, taking ninth in the 50 (29.96) and eighth in the 100 (57.95).
First-year Laura Patterson (Annapolis/Annapolis, Md.) was eighth in the 200 breaststroke in a time of 2:41.20.
William Smith is back in the pool on Jan. 24, when the Herons host Rochester. The meet is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
