GENEVA, N.Y.—Two members of the William Smith College swimming and diving team were honored at the Annual William Smith Athletics Awards Banquet on May 1. Senior Charlotte McIntosh (Blair Academy/Reading, Pa.) earned the Anne Richardson Rowley ’82 Most Valuable Swimming and Diving Award, while first-year Rachel Johnson (Emma Willard School/Clifton Park, N.Y.) collected the Kelly Kisner Swimming and Diving Coach’s Award.
McIntosh led the Herons in the freestyle all winter, including an eighth-place finish in the 400-yard medley relay at the NYSWCAA Championships. A Liberty League All-Academic and two-time NYSWCAA All-Academic selection, McIntosh led William Smith to a 12th-place finish at the state championships, and a 4-4-1 dual meet record this year. She graduates as a record-holder in the 200 medley relay (1:53.64).
A determined, hard worker, Johnson swims freestyle for the Herons. She continually improved all season, and helped William Smith’s 400 free relay team to wins against RIT and Alfred. Johnson also posted a victory in the 50 free against Wells.
