Swimming & Diving puts 6 on All-Academic Team

GENEVA, N.Y.—Six William Smith College swimming and diving student-athletes recently earned spots on the Liberty League All-Academic Team.
To earn a spot on the Liberty League All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.2, and be at least a sophomore academically. The following Herons were named to the 2006-07 All-Academic Team:
• Senior Emily Block (The Govenor’s Academy/Stratham, N.H.), biology major
• Sophomore Lynn Cutter (St. Gertrude/Richmond, Va.), undeclared
• Sophomore Allie Donovan (Catherine McAuley/Portland, Maine), undeclared
• Sophomore Sarah Gummoe (Webster Thomas/Webster, N.Y.), undeclared
• Sophomore Kim Hlavac (Academy of St. Joseph/East Islip, N.Y.), chemistry major
• Senior Charlotte McIntosh (Blair Academy/Reading, Pa.), political science/environmental studies double major
The Herons currently hold a 4-3-1 record in dual meets, and finished eighth in the Liberty League Championships before the semester break. William Smith will host Ithaca on Jan. 30 for its final home meet of the season, starting at 7 p.m.
