WEBSTER, N.Y.--The William Smith swimming & diving team finished seventh out of 15 teams in the New York State Women's Collegiate Athletic Association Championship meet. The Herons amassed 663 points, just 12 points behind sixth place Alfred.

Sophomore diver Sarah Costanza (Gwynedd Mercy/Ambler, Pa.), who won the 1-meter competition on Thursday, finished third in the 3-meter competition with a school record score of 391.0. She eclipsed her own record of 390.96 set at last year's state meet.

In the 200-yard butterfly, junior Becy Grossman (Mercerburg Academy/Penfield, N.Y.) placed fourth in a time of 2:15.32.

In the 400 freestyle relay, junior Jenny Fowler (Westfield/Westfield, N.J.), sophomore Kate Feller (Avon/Avon, N.Y.), first-year Charlotte McIntosh (Blair Academy/Reading, Pa.), and sophomore Charlotte Hoffman (Greenwich/Greenwich, Conn.) finished in 3:45.26, good enough for fifth place.

In the 200 backstroke, McIntosh turned in a sixth place showing in a time of 2:16.04.
