Costanza’s record setting performance warrants league honors

GENEVA, N.Y.—William Smith College first-year diver Sarah Costanza (Gwynedd Mercy/Ambler, Pa.) used a record setting performance to earn her second consecutive Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association Diver of the Week Award. She has earned three UCAA Diver of the Week Awards this season.
Costanza helped the Herons to a 139-98 victory over RIT on Jan. 21, with a record setting performance on the 3-meter board and a win on the 1-meter board. She broke the 3-meter school and pool record with a score of 251.85. The previous mark was 243.85 held by Lesley Mattson ’00. Costanza won the 1-meter diving event with a score of 237.15.
William Smith returns to action at 7 p.m., on Jan. 29, when the University of Rochester will visit Bristol Pool.
