GENEVA, N.Y.—William Smith senior Laura Maier (Lancaster Country Day/Reading, Pa.) was named the Liberty League Women’s Tennis Co-Performer of the Week today.

Maier posted a 3-0 third singles mark this week to help the Herons sweep Ithaca 8-1, St. Lawrence 5-4, and St. John Fisher 8-1. Against the Bombers, Maier posted a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Elizabeth Cohen. At St. Lawrence, Maier yielded only four games to Liz Kelly, winning 6-1, 6-3. Maier saved her best performance for last, dispatching Fisher's Megan Peters 6-1, 6-0.

Over the past three-plus seasons at William Smith, Maier has compiled a 58-15 (.795) singles record, while posting a 35-20 (.636) mark in doubles action.

The Herons return to action at 4 p.m., on Oct. 5, at Hamilton.
