Heron tennis blanks Eagles 9-0

GENEVA, N.Y.—The William Smith tennis team posted a 9-0 victory over Brockport in Bristol Field House this afternoon. The Herons won all six singles matches in straight sets, yielding just a total of eight games.
Ranked 15th in the ITA Northeast Region, sophomore Chelsea Rauck (Columbus School for Girls/Bexley, Ohio) topped Ashley Balling at first singles 6-1, 6-0 for her third win in a row. Junior Tara Ware (Avon/Avon, Conn.) at No. 2, sophomore Samantha Schraeter (Rye/Rye, N.Y.) at No. 5, and junior Cory Turner (Canterbury School/Ridgefield, Conn.) at No. 6 also posted wins while losing just a single game.
William Smith (7-7) is back in action on April 18, when the Herons travel to Geneseo for a 4 p.m. match.
