Harmann wins ITA Consolation Singles September 29, 2002 GENEVA, N.Y.--William Smith College hosted the annual ITA Northeast Regional Championships this weekend. Over three days more than 70 student-athletes from 16 colleges and universities competed in more than 120 singles and doubles matches. Junior Diana Harmann (St. Joseph's/Southport, Conn.) won the consolation singles bracket. Despite losing her first round match in the championship bracket, Harmann rebounded to win five consecutive matches, including the consolation final over Vassar's Kathryn Robinette 6-4, 3-6, 6-3. Hamilton's Lindsey Schantz won the singles championship with a 6-1, 7-6 decision over the College of New Jersey's Amy Huah. Schantz did not lose a set in six matches during the weekend. In doubles play, New Jersey's Kelly Hernandez and Huah defeated the University of Rochester's Maithili Jha and Tara Pajoohi 8-6.
